Twisted: A Font That Elevates Editorial Design

I was recently working on a lifestyle blog redesign, and the first thing that caught my eye was the header. It felt flat, uninspired, and just not right. The text wasn’t speaking to the reader—it was simply there. I needed something more expressive, something that would make the title pop but still feel inviting. That’s when I discovered Twisted, a display font with a unique character that immediately transformed the look of the project.

Twisted is an incredibly cool font. Its curves are playful yet refined, giving it a balance between whimsy and elegance. It has a rhythm that feels natural, almost like handwriting but with a polished edge. The personality of this typeface is both modern and nostalgic, making it versatile enough to work across a variety of editorial projects without feeling out of place.

As I experimented with Twisted, I began to see how it could shape the mood of a publication. For instance, using it in a blog header instantly gave the site a more artistic and engaging feel. The soft, flowing lines of the letters invited readers to explore further, while the clean edges ensured it didn’t become overwhelming. It worked beautifully for a recipe ebook cover too—something that needed to feel approachable but also visually appealing.

One of the things I love about Twisted is its ability to support visual hierarchy. When used for article titles, it draws attention without being distracting. In a digital magazine layout, it became the perfect choice for chapter openers and pull quotes. The font adds a touch of personality to each section, helping to break up long blocks of text and keep the reader engaged.

But it’s not just about aesthetics. Twisted also plays well with other fonts. Pairing it with a clean serif font for body copy created a nice contrast that improved readability. On a printable planner, I used Twisted for section headings and paired it with a simple sans serif for captions and navigation. This combination kept the design cohesive while maintaining a sense of flow.

For those who are considering using Twisted in their own projects, I recommend checking the included styles, alternates, ligatures, weights, and multilingual support. These features can be especially useful when creating ebooks, templates, or paid newsletters. Ensuring you have the correct commercial font licensing is also important if you plan to use it in client publications or digital downloads.

In a wedding guide, I found that Twisted added a romantic, handcrafted feel to the cover and chapter titles. It wasn’t too ornate, so it didn’t overpower the content, but it still had that special touch that made the publication stand out. Similarly, in a coaching workbook, it helped reinforce the idea of creativity and self-expression.

Readability is always a concern, especially when using a display font. I tested Twisted on screens, mobile devices, and in print, and it performed well in all formats. While it’s best suited for shorter text such as headings, subtitles, and decorative accents, it can also work for longer reading if used sparingly. For long-form content, I’d suggest keeping it limited to section headers or key phrases to maintain clarity.

The versatility of Twisted makes it a great fit for a wide range of editorial applications—from social media graphics to brand identity elements. Whether you're designing a newsletter graphic, a course PDF, or a creative font collection, this typeface brings a fresh perspective to your designs.

There’s something satisfying about finding a premium font that feels just right. Twisted isn’t just another display font—it’s a tool that helps you tell your story with more confidence and style. And in the world of editorial design, that kind of impact is rare and valuable.
